New Laundry Basket Quilt patterns - first release in Canada! Not just 2 Sale Bins but now 3, chock full of bargains. New notions, fabrics, patterns, books....new possibilities.....all at our Canada Day Sale tomorrow. We will actually be open at 9am, not 10am due to an error in the Free Press ad (my fault - your gain). What a lovely way to spend a rainy day - in a quilt shop. See you soon. PS: If you can't make it in tomorrow, call us.

A nice gentleman came in to the shop with crewel kits (some partially started), offering them to anyone who is interested in taking them on for free. His wife passed away recently and he wanted to pay these forward. So if anyone is interested in free crewel projects, drop by the shop and take a look.
It's hard to believe we're at the middle of June already. I assume all the seeds/plants have been plopped into the garden/flower beds and now you can step back and relax, watching them grow over the weeks ahead.
That means time for travelling, visiting friends and family, having BBQs and, of course, quilting. It's especially nice if there is air-conditioning available. If you don't have air-conditioning, you can reserve time in our classroom - tea and coffee provided.
So - onward to new goodies that arrived this week. Check out the What's New at Cornerstone Quilts page for pics of new fabric lines and books we received. I can't wait to get sewing with these fabrics.
Also we are now carrying Kona's Ultra Black and Ultra White fabrics. New hexie rulers from Marti Michell and Fons & Porter are in the shop. Breezy is back and we now have Retayne and Synthropol handy as well. Magic Mirrors (2 mirrors joined on one side) in 6x6" and 5.5x11.5" sizes will help you preview quilt blocks before cutting or sewing. Come in for a quick demo. I love using these when I design paper-pieced blocks. Some of you have asked for the Finger Gloves - we now have 2 sizes, medium and large.
And there's more - why not drop by soon and see what's new.

We continue to have customers come to the shop, looking to purchase finished quilts and are now one step closer to opening Consignment Corner. Please remember that if you wish to participate, you must be registered with the TSSA (Technical Standards & Safety Authority), as either a Home Hobbyist or Manufacturer because quilts are classified as bedding. Appropriate labelling must be present on items submitted for vetting prior to acceptance for sale. More information may be obtained from www.tssa.org. Registration forms may be downloaded from this site, or may be picked up at the shop, along with label requirement information, and more. Watch the news/blog for the future launch of Consignment Corner.
