Camp Squaremup - A Quilter's Boot Camp
This is a serial story that some of you may have seen before when my first business was in operation. It will be posted in a separate 'page' at the top under the logo, one part each week, starting June 13th. Here's a sample of what's to come:
"They arrived at 8 a.m., wide-eyed recruits stepping
off the bus, lugging their stash duffel bags and sewing machines. They milled together, waiting to find out
where to stash their stash and gear.
Two uniforms approached. The
younger one walked around the group, looking them up and down, shaking her
head. She moved to stand beside the
older one, who cleared her throat and barked, “I am Colonel Burgoyne and this
is Sergeant Dewitagan! For the next 8
weeks, the sergeant and others will instruct you on the discipline of the
quilt! You WILL learn! You WILL have fun! And, you WILL forge new
friendships!” Turning to the young
sergeant, the Colonel stated, “They’re all yours,” and strode off toward the
Officers’ Club for a large double-triple. "
